Ask an Artist: International Watercolour Masters
Season 6, Episode 5: International Watercolour Masters
In this episode, Peter and Tom welcome back David Poxon, this time to talk about how and why he set up the International Watercolour Masters Festival; a biannual festival taking place in Shropshire in May 2024.
From the 15th - 24th May this year, Lillishall Hall in Shropshire, UK, shall host the third International Watercolour Masters event. In the first half of the episode, David talks about how the event came to be, from quite informal and organic beginnings, to an internationally renowned event. David talks about what it takes to organise such an event, be a part of it and why and how it has needed to grow and adapt over time, into what it is set to be this year.
In the second half, David has advice for any Artists thinking of applying to be a part of or visiting an art festival. He also talks about IWM TV, a new initiative for this year, which will allow anyone from across the globe, to be involved with this year’s IWM.
